Welcome: 

It has been a busy and exciting time for Tarot and Astrology recently with the International Tarot Conference, client consults and deeper learning and interaction between the Tarot /Astrology world and Counselling/psychology approaches.

The Moon keeps coming up in many of my client readings lately, and it seems that many of are going though confusing times , where often relationships and self worth are at the fore. The unconscious is such a powerful force for all our motivations. We don’t realize how much we are ‘controlled ‘ by primal non- verbal , non- cognitive forces, sometimes with no awareness or with glimpses often revealed in our emotions… fear , anger, rage and deep fears of abandonment and rejection, that then motivate our behaviours before thinking can set in! . It takes so much hard work and courage to undertake this journey. It is hard to face as it is painful and needs to be revisited over one’s lifetime .. the inner child beckons….. what we didn’t we get as a child turns into the challenges in relationships- not only romantic but with family, and friends. The Tarot Guild of Australia celebrated its 21st birthday in style with an inspiring international tarot conference in early August. Key presenters included familiar faces from some of the most popular online classes offered through Global Spiritual Studies.

‘Just returned from Tarot Guild of Australia International Conference held in Melbourne . It was inspiring with so much deep knowledge and wisdom from amazing speakers …I feel a much greater depth with many of the cards, seeing connections between cards and their symbolism and content, much more freedom to explore innovation in spreads and placements eg looking at the direction a figure in a card is facing to catalyse exploration.( Caitlin Matthews) Another session from Rachel Pollack, working through for oneself and the client the ‘difficult not so positive cards’ that everyone fears!! eg the Devil, Death , 10 swords…. and to explore what this means for you and the client. The High Priestess connection to Kabbalah, ancient Egypt, the female Pope…..and how she can be used as the central card in a reading to explore ones spiritual path and to re-balance. Many speakers intertwined Carl Jung ‘s psychology in to their perspectives which shows how he connected so profoundly with ancient esoteric wisdom.
My presentation on Tarot Counselling and Relationships, was attended by a small enthusiastic group BUT I had the privilege of Caitlin Matthews and Mary Greer sitting in, ( International Tarot Wise Women) and giving me deeply appreciated positive feedback, that I presented essential knowledge for Tarot Readers and practical strategies..especially in the area of the eternal Tarot questions about relationships My focus was on some key counselling principles, workshopping this in relation to Tarot cards and spreads, and some relationship issues that often present in consultations .
Looking at the future I want to work with Global Spiritual Studies’ Linda Marson ( above ) Brief on line’ and CD topics such as Tarot Counselling and relationships; Tarot and depression …. continuing the connection with the psyche and Tarot.
The conference was an exciting in depth experience that convinces me more and more that Tarot can offer so much …. not just the common understanding of fortune telling or exact concrete prediction.Whilst these aspects may occur , and those with these gifts can offer a great deal, we are continuing to move beyond this ‘narrow’ definition and the opening more towards a psycho- spiritual divination that enables people to know themselves far more deeply and thus become conscious enabling choice, and the unconscious/ shadow may be embraced to guide us to our SELF.’

I am so excited to be attending the Tarot schools Annual Tarot Readers Studio (Conference)in New York in 2014 which includes the Tarot and Psychology Conference. i ge t to see and work with Mary Greer, Caitlin Matthews again as well as geting to meet book authors eg Arthur Rosengarten- Tarot & psychology and to meet colleagues such as Katrina Wynne who also does tarot counselling and has classes on Global Spiritual Studies as well as myself. If you recall I did a radio interview with Kooch Daniels on the US Tarot Guild Radio station Nu Life a few months ago. and so i will get to met Kooch too! .
This trip is on my way to another event.. the intensive retreat with the ONE SPIRIT INTERFAITH SEMINARY where I am undertaking via distance learning their two year course to become an Interfaith Minister. This all dovetails into the psycho – spiritual paths of Tarot and Astrology as well as my role as a Celebrant and Ceremony facilitator.
